So, i came up with my own creation of butternut squash soup. My mother-in-law insist that sage taste better than thyme to add essence to the soup. I tried thyme, I liked it and sage was good too. Can't really make up my mind....So what do you think? Sage or thyme?
Hey so where is the recipe for the soup? I mean is the blog meant to contain recipes or just various cooking experiences?
ReplyDeleteThe recipe is as follows:
ReplyDeleteINGREDIENTS:
4 cups of butternut squash
3 cups of chicken stock or vegetable stock
1/3 cup celery
1/3 cup onions
4 tbspn roasted pine nuts
1/2 tspn sage
Salt & Pepper to taste
RECIPE:
Bring the squash, celery and onions to boil in the stock. Add salt and paper to taste. Once the ingredients have been cooked completely, blend it in the blender. Bring the blended soup back on the stove stop and cook for additional 3-5 minutes. Meanwhile, roast the pine nuts in the oven for no more than 2 minutes. Sprinkle it over a hot bowl of soup along with dried sage.
Would definitely prefer sage to thyme. This recipe looks good, I should try it out.
ReplyDeleteOkay I have to try it! Everything you make is great! When will you have your own daytime TV show? Can I be your kitchen aid?
ReplyDeleteLol....yes,I should really invest in my own show...but I feel I still have a lot of learning to do especially in the meats department. But, hopefully with this pace, I can ateast issue my book someday!
